Ashanti Cultural Art & Enrichment

Ashanti Cultural Arts & Enrichment, Inc. was founded in March of 1990 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The name Ashanti is a royal West African Tribe known for its Cultural Richness and Diversity. Ashanti has been serving communities for over 27 years with classes, programs and entertainment in the arts. Ashanti’s founder Linda Houston Jones was awarded the 2016 2016 Volunteer Service Award by our 44th President Barack Obama.

Ashanti presents a full roster of artistic programming which includes monthly concerts and weekly dance, drumming, acting and movement classes throughout the school year. In addition, Ashanti provides a summer arts and literacy day camp which introduces children to educational and fun field trips throughout the South Florida area.

Swinging Fridays – Jazz on the Blvd

Ashanti Cultural Arts will host monthly swing dance classes followed by a jazz concert featuring various jazz artists and bands such as Jessie Jones, Nicole Henry and George Tandy.Register

Ashanti Arts & Literacy Summer Day Camp

June 10, 2019 – August 2, 2019, $25 registration, $66 per week per camper Fines arts classes including dance, drumming, drama; workshops on banking and literacy, performance etiquette, stage make up and more. Campers also participate in weekly field trips to museums, water parks and more. On the last day of camp, campers will present a showcase to the community, family, friends and sponsors.


Rock Road Restoration Historical Group

Established as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in 2007 by Pompano Beach Historian Hazel Armbrister, Rock Road Restoration Historical Group’s mission is to collect and disseminate the history of the African American community west of Dixie Highway and the FEC railroad within the City of Pompano Beach. Rock Road’s programs share, with the residents of Pompano Beach and the surrounding areas, the history and rich traditions of the early pioneers’ contribution in building up a sense of Community from the depths of farmland.
